MARCH 2026 - SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH
Missourians benefit every day from the dedicated energies and countless hours devoted by the more than 3,600 local school board members in every community across the state. These public servants are elected by local constituents and do not receive compensation for their tireless efforts. As citizens who serve students and represent their communities, school board members face complex and demanding challenges.
During the month of March, communities across the state will honor the dedicated service of local boards of education during School Board Recognition Month as proclaimed by Governor Kehoe.
“Local school boards play a vital leadership role in providing our students with the finest possible education,” says MSBA Executive Director Melissa Randol. “We thank school board members for their commitment to their communities and to the students in their school districts across Missouri.”

Chula School will not be in session Thursday 3/12 and Friday 3/13, due to illness. These will be AMI days. A letter has been emailed to parents and sent home with students. Transportation for High School students will still run as normal.

Preschool and Kindergarten Screenings will be held on March 25, 2026, 8:00-5:30pm. Reserve your screening time by calling the school at 660-639-3135. Preschoolers must be 3 before August 1, 2026. Kindergarteners must be 5 before August 1, 2026.

Because the Carnival is being held on Friday evening, there will be no First Friday Cafe this month. Save your dollars for the Carnival! We’ll be ready with donuts and hot chocolate in April.

Our students got a treat today attending a planetarium in Meadville. They learned about our solar system, planets, and stars.

Due to the home basketball game tonight, there will be no Thursday night church services for the Chula Community Church. All are encouraged to attend the game at the Chula School, beginning at 6:00pm, no charge for admission.
